Seattle Dance Workshops (Feb-March)

 Tuesday, Feb 21st, 2012:   

"Int/Adv Framework & 'Cross-Over' Moves You Can Use in Both NC2S & Waltz" 

(a perfect prelude for the upcoming Tuesday series)

Take your dance to a whole new level with this workshop that focuses on lead/follow connection through rotation and energy transfer as applied to NC2S and Waltz (a little like our 1-3-5 workshop, but fucussing on just 2 dances and connection).  Gain a better understanding of how these two dances intersect, and how skills learned in one can be applied to the other. This workshop is equally pertinent to both leads & follows, and is the perfect prelude to the NC2S and Waltz series to follow.  PREREQUISITE:  Basic (beginning level) NC2S or Cross-Step Waltz 

  • WHEN:  Doors open at 6:45pm.  Workshop runs from 7-9:15pm.  Free dance practice from 9:15-10pm
  • WHERE:  China Harbor, 2040 Westlake Ave N, Seattle, WA.  Plenty of free parking available. 
  • COST:   $25 each, or $45 for both (credit card or PayPal online; cash or check at the door only)
  • LEVEL:  Participants should be comfortable with a basic (ie, beginning level) Night Club 2-Step, and/or Cross-Step Waltz.

Wednesday, Feb 22nd, 2012:   

"Blues and the Art of the Dance Conversation"

Learn the simple rules for creating playful conversations through your body on the dance floor, including how to listen as well as how to give your partner a voice.  Plus, learn some learn some wonderful blues movements and stylings, all the while honing in on valuable lead and follow skills that can be applied to virtually any parter dance.  Perfect for dancers of all levels.  No prior experience required.  No partner needed. 

  • WHEN:  Doors open at 6:45pm.  Workshop runs from 7-9pm.  Free dance practice from 9-10pm
  • WHERE:   Kirkland Studio (Details sent with registration).  
  • COST:    $25 each, or $45 for both (credit card or PayPal online; cash or check at the door only)
  • LEVEL:  All levels welcome.  No prior experience needed. No partner necessary.
