FRIDAY, June 9:  Fab Friday Lesson & Dance @ Om Culture (2210 N Pacific St, Seattle, WA)

  • 6:45pm:  Doors open, stretch and warm up
  • 7:00-8:00pm:  Special Pre-Dance Lesson: "Intro to Effortless Pivoting" with Ari & Jodi (Beginning level)
  • 8:00-9:30pm:  Variety Dance with a fabulous mix of waltz's, swing, ballroom, Latin, blues and more DJ'd by Ari
  • 9:30-11:00pm:  Late night lyrical blues and fusion set
    • No need to pre-register, just show up at the door
    • Cost: $15 for lesson & dance ($5 after 9:30pm)

SATURDAY, June 10: @ Om Culture (2210 N Pacific St, Seattle, WA) Pre-register for discounted rate, or just show up and pay at the door.  See class descriptions below

    • 8:00-10:30pm: The Starry Starry Night Ball (Waltz's and more to live music with "Joy Street Band" - featuring Lucia Near & Dina Blade)

    • 12:30pm:   Transfer to the port to board the "Westerdam"

    WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS (June 9-11): ($$/$$ = pre-registered/drop-in price)

    FRIDAY (June 9) 7-7:30pm:  Intro to Effortless Pivoting (all levels, everybody welcome!)
    Learn the magical secret sauce to effortless pivots that can be easily applied to waltz, foxtrot, swing, or any traveling dance!  Perfect for dancers of all abilities (FREE lesson with $15 Dance Entrance) 
    Level: Open to all levels 

    SATURDAY (June 10), 10:30am-12:30pm:  Unique Waltz Combo's:
    Learn a variety of fun, new, innovative cross-step waltz combinations from Ari’s ever-expanding library of moves and inventions; beautiful, flowing, and elegant as always.  ($25/$30)Level: Non-novice Beg/Int. Comfort with any turning waltz style and basic partnering skills are assumed.

    SATURDAY (June 10), 1:30-3:30pm:  Fabulous Shadow Waltz Combinations:
    In this session we focus on cross-step shadow-waltz combinations. It’s easy to learn and lots of fun to do! ($25/$30)  Level: Non-novice Beg/Int. Comfort with any turning waltz style and basic partnering skills are assumed.

    SUNDAY     (June 11), 10am-12pm:  Playful Night Club 2-Step Variations!  

    Learn a variety of fun NC2S combinations from Ari's library of moves and inventions.  Ari is known as one of the country's leading innovators in this style, and actively teaches this dance around the world. Perfect for int/adv level NC2S-ers. CLICK HERE and HERE to see examples of NC2S. 

    ($25/$30)  Level: Non-Novice Beg, Int/Adv: Basic NC2S Left & Right Turn steps and partnering skills assumed.

    SMALL PRINT:

    • The Saturday & Sunday workshops are designed for non-novice int/adv social partner dancers.  The Friday and Sunday pre-dance lessons are open to all!
    • No partner needed
    • Please arrive 15 minutes before your first workshop to check in.
    • Help protect the floors by changing from street shoes to clean, soft-soled shoes for dancing.

    If you are coming from out of town and need a hotel room or a place to stay, you may want to look for options on any of the numerous online search engines such as:

    All of the classes, Fri & Sun dances, and workshop Fri-Sun will be at Om Culture on the north side of Lake Union (Om Culture, 2210 N Pacific St, Seattle, WA.).  The Saturday Ball location is the Sons of Norway Hall in Bothell. Om Culture is in a residential neighborhood, so AirBnB might give you the closest options.
