GETTING THERE (Driving)

From New York and Metropolitan Area: 

(2 Hours) George Washington Bridge to New Jersey Palisades Parkway to New York Thruway North. Proceed on Thruway to Exit 16 and proceed west on Route 17 to Exit 104. Route 17B (Raceway Road). Go West to Cochecton 17 miles, at the traffic light turn right at the intersection on Route 17B West and 52A, then follow the signs to the Villa Roma.

From Binghamton, Rochester and Upstate Area:

Interstate Highway 490 South to the New York Thruway (90) East. In Syracuse leave Route 90 for Interstate 81 South to Binghamton. Here pick up Route 17 East (Quickway) to Hancock Exit Route 97. Follow this to Callicoon. Turn left at traffic light before bridge onto 17B which becomes Route 52. Follow the signs to the Villa Roma.

From Connecticut:

Route 84 West to Route 17, West to Exit 104, Route 17B (Raceway Rd.) Go West 17 miles to Cochecton turn right at the traffic light at the intersection of Route 17B West and 52A, follow the signs to Villa Roma.

From Southern New Jersey and Philadelphia:

New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 11 Garden State Parkway North to New York State Thruway North. Leave Thruway at Exit 16 and proceed to Route 17 to Exit 104, Route 17B (Raceway Rd). Go West to Cochecton 17 miles, there turn right at the traffic light at the intersection of Route 17B West and 52A. Follow the Villa Roma signs.

From Boston and the New England States:

Mass. Turnpike to Sturbridge Exit. Route 86 South to Route 84 West. Proceed to New York Exit 4W to Route 17 Quickway West to Exit 104. Route 17B (Raceway Rd.) Go West to Cochecton 17 miles, at traffic light turn right at the intersection of Route 17B and 52A, then follow signs to Villa Roma.

From Albany Area:

Take New York State Thruway to Exit 19 (Kingston Exit) Take 209  South to Ellenville. Take Route 52 West to Jeffersonville. Then follow signs to Villa Roma.

From Stewart International Airport:

Follow signs to Route I-84 (left on Rte 207 East 9 mi., left on Rte 300 N. 2.1 mi.) Route I-84 West to Middletown (Exit 4) and Route 17, West to Exit 104, route 17B (Raceway Rd). Go West to Cochecton 17 miles. At the traffic light turn right at the intersection of Route 17B and 52. Follow signs to Villa Roma.

  

GETTING THERE (By Shuttle)

ShortLine/Coach USA bus schedule from NYC, Long Island and Westchester to Villa Roma.

From NYC, the bus departs from the Port Authority Bus Terminal (PABT) at 41st & 8th Ave. Tickets can be purchased from the Shortline Coach Office on the 2nd floor in the North building of the PABT, or from the bus driver if the office is closed (or if you are boarding from any stop along the route where there is not an office).  You can also purchase tickets online at www.shortlinebus.com   Tickets from NYC to Villa Roma are $40.00 o/w

  FRIDAY, Sept 18th, 2015:
  • 10:00am-4:00pm (optional):  Arrive early and enjoy a day on your own at the resort.  Room check-in is officially at 4:00pm, but you can check in earlier if your room is available then.  If your room is not available, you can still leave your luggage with the concierge and go enjoy the resort amenities!   (Changing rooms are available at poolside) Take the day to rest, relax, play, hike, bike, golf, enjoy a few hot tub soaks, go swimming, gaming, R&R, etc...
  • 4:00pm:  Camp check-in/registration.  Official room check in is from 4:00-4:45 in the main lobby.
  • 5:00-6:00pm:  Meet & greet; introductions; games; first group workshop with Ari in the Club Forum
  • 6:00-7:00pm:  Pre-dinner Tea-dance with live music by "Eight to the Bar" in the Club Forum

      ARI LEVITT, MD (Seattle, WA):   "Blues, Partnering, & Connection"  

    Ari is well-known for his fun, energetic, and delightful classes that can't help but inspire students with a love and passion for dance.  He has been teaching and performing nationally, and internationally for over 25 years; is the co-founder and director of "Waltz Week in Vienna", "Snowflake Blues" (Vienna), "Jumpin' At The Woodside Swing, Rhythm, & Blues" (NY), "Harrison Hot Spring Dance-Spa Retreat" (B.C.), "The New Zealand Dance Adventure"; and is one of this country's leading innovators and instructors in the areas of cross-step waltz, as well as "fusion" blues, waltz, swing, &  night club 2-step. 

    When not dancing, Ari is a physician on faculty at Singularity University's prestigious "Exponential Med", and is a pioneer in the burgeoning field of "Experiential Wellness Medicine" which, among other things, uses dance movement, technique, & connection as a modality for diagnosing and treating patients.

      FLOUER EVELYN (New York, NY):   "Blues, Partnering, & Connection" 

     Flouer is the Director of Blues Dance New York, through which she hosts a weekly blues dance called Friday Night Blues NYC; and holds monthly workshops and class series with various local and national instructors. With over 17 years of training in various forms of partner dance, having performed and competed throughout Europe, North and South America, and acquiring her MFA in Dance; Flouer presents a very contextual, wholistic approach to Blues. In her classes this approach often translates into encouraging individual artistry while paying close attention to connection, technique, and historical references.

    Flouer is deeply dedicated to building community through Blues dancing, and believes that people physically moving and learning together can lead to powerful experiences.  Currently, she can be found teaching full time in New York City, and running her dance events- FNBlues, Nocturne Blues, Melting Pot & Motley Hue.

      PEGGY LEIBY & RET TURNER (Philadelphia, PA):   "East Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, & Charleston"  

    Ret and Peggy have been teaching dance since 1999 when they co-founded Mostly Waltz, a highly popular dance series in the Philadelphia area. Their extensive dance resume includes Swing and Lindy, Waltz, Vintage, International folk, and even Appalachian clogging! Besides clearly teaching steps and moves, they focus on partnering dynamics—and fun!

      VERA KYWA (York, PA):   "Social Ballroom Dance" (Waltz, Fox, Latin, etc)  

    Vera Kywa is a full time professional dance instructor, studio owner, and event promoter with over 30 years of teaching experience.  She is Certified in both the American and International Standard of dance.  Vera is originally from Ohio where she owned the Fred Astaire Franchise License for the Toledo area and operated her own studio training her instructors and professional dance teams for competition.  Today she is the premiere dance instructor in south central PA with expertise in nearly every form of partnership dancing including Argentine Tango, Salsa, Blues and other social dances. Her expertise was developed through her passion for her profession, her love of dance, and her continued personal training. These qualities have made her one of the top dance coaches with a special talent to create an easy, fun filled learning experience
