WEEKEND WORKSHOPS

Four fabulous 2-Hour Sessions on Sat & Sun at Om Culture  (doors open at 9:30am), plus a mixed variety Tea dance Sunday afternoon for all participants and guests

LEVEL FOR ALL CLASSES:  "Non-Novice, Int/Adv" -- meaning all workshops will be geared toward people who are not 'beginning' waltz or NC2S social dancers (the classes will move faster than a typical beginning class). 

**PLEASE NOTE:  COVID Vax/Booster + mask required for participation

 Saturday, March 5th 



SESSION 1:  Night Club 2-Step Magic: "Fun New Grooves"  

     TIME:  9:45-11:45am

Learn a variety of fun, innovative combinations from Ari & Jodi's library of moves and inventions; beautiful, flowing, and elegant as always.  Perfect for non-novice beg/int level NC2S-ers.  CLICK HERE to see an example of NC2S.

SESSION 2:  Cross-Step Waltz Magic!    

     TIME:  1:00-3:00pm

"Cross Step Waltz" is one of the most common social-partnered waltz styles done in the Seattle community. We'll quickly review the cross step basics, then learn some beautifully flowing waltz variations that will have you gliding 'n sliding, floating 'n flying across the dance floor in no time at all!

SESSION 3: Latin Waltz Magic!

     TIME:  3:15-5:15pm

Learn how to add latin movements, steps, and combinations to spice up your waltz repertoire.  So much fun!


Guided Dance Practica 

      TIME:  5:15-6:15pm

Put everything you learned in the classes to work during this guided practica.  Ari & Jodi will be available to help with any questions you might have!

Hosted by NWDN @ The Leif Erikson (8:00-11:00pm)
(NOT included in weekend package; must pay separately)  

Live Music By: Annie Eastwood and her All-Star Band

Time: 8–11pm

Location: Leif Erikson Hall at the Sons of Norway Lodge, 2245 NW 57th St, Seattle, 98117

Cost: $20 (cash or check at the door)

Parking: Free parking at the Ballard Health Club lot, right behind and across the street from the Leif; when that lot is full, you may also park at Banner Bank

SESSION 4:  Night Club 2-Step: "Crazy-Fun J&A Inventions!"  

     TIME:  10:00am-12:00pm

Learn more fun, innovative NC2S combinations, moves, and inventions from Jodi & Ari's repertoire; beautiful, flowing, and elegant as always.  CLICK HERE to see an example of NC2S.

  

 "Om Culture Sunday Tea Dance" 

    TIME:  12:00-2:00pm

Practice all the steps you learned in the workshops at this wonderful afternoon mixed variety social dance, featuring the best in swing, waltz, NC2S, WCS, ballroom, blues, Latin, and more!


 LOCATION:

SAT & SUN - ALL WORKSHOPS & TEA DANCE:  

  • Om Culture, 2210 N Pacific St, Seattle, WA (plentiful free street parking on Northlake Ave.  CLICK HERE to see a map for parking)
Door opens 15 minutes before class. Come early to sign in, change shoes, stretch, warm up, etc.
PRICING:

Payment can be made online using a credit card, Venmo, or PayPal, or at the door in person by cash or check 15 minutes before the class (please see full details on the PAYMENT page)

Pre-registration is highly encouraged to maintain lead/follow balance.

Definitions:

"Single Session" = A single session consists of one 2-hour class. 

"Full Weekend" = A full weekend pass includes all workshop sessions on BOTH Sat AND Sun (4 workshops) plus the Sunday Afternoon Tea Dance

 

Private Lessons

Ari will be available for private lessons when not at the workshops or dances. The charge for private lessons is $90/hr. Please contact arilevitt@rolluptherug.com to set up lesson times.

 

Students

Students must be under age 25 and must present student ID at check in/registration prior to class
