Stand-Alone Holiday Workshops to Wrap-Up 2017

WORKSHOPS

In this workshop you'll not only learn a whole host of fun, original NC2S steps and combinations, but also a greater appreciation for those elements of partnering, framework, and connection that make the dance more lyrical and flowing, and hence, that much the sweeter!

In the first hour of the workshop, we'll explore some fun new combination from Ari repertoire of unique NC2S moves & stylings, and in the second hour we'll begin to explore those elements of free-style movement and flow that will let you break rhythm, improvise and style on your own (or co-create moves), then seamlessly return to your partnership.   

For those in the current Tuesday NC2S Demo Team, this will be all new material, so you should definitely come (and bring your friends!)

2) WED, Dec 20th, 7-9pm (with FREE guided practice' til 9:30):  

"Fabulous Holiday Garnishes to Make Your Dancing POP" (Fun & SAFE Dips, Drops, Hits, Break-Steps & Flourishes Useful For Every Dance Style You Do!)

In this fun and informative workshop, we'll focus on adding flourish and pizzazz to every dance you do by learning some fun new tricks to incorporate when hitting breaks, when breaking rhythms, when solo-ing of styling, or when co-creating together.  

The operative words for the workshop will be  "Fun" & "Safe", which is to say that no-one will be lifted off of or dropped to the floor during any part of the class, nor put into any kind of position that would be considered dangerous in a social dance setting.  In addition to the above hits, breaks, and flourishes, we'll also have fun exploring some dips and spins that can be easily translated into blues, tango, swing, or ballroom, and you'll learn how to make those transitions work in each case!  

Wear comfortable clothing and shoes that don't stick to the floor (i.e., don't wear anything with with rubber soles).  No partner necessary, but definitely invite anyone you know who you would like to play with using these moves on the social dance floor!  

This is the perfect way to cap of 2017 with style and grace!

DETAILS

TIME:   (Same schedule applies to both the Dec 19th & 20th sessions)

• 6:45pm:  Doors open - come early to register or pay as needed, stretch, warm up, etc
• 7:00-9:00pm:  Workshop is underway!
• 9:00-9:45pm:  Post-Workshop Dance & Guided Practica, with Ari

LOCATION:  

• Both workshops will be held at China Harbor, 2040 Westlake Ave N., Seattle, WA.  There is plenty of free parking available.  Doors to the dance hall open at 6:45. Come early to sign in, change shoes, stretch, warm up, etc.  China Harbor has a full bar and dinner menu as well, and we have coupons for a 25% discount on your meal

COST (per workshop): 

• PRE-REGISTRATION SPECIAL:  You can drop-in at the door without pre-registering and pay $25, or if you pre-register online by Fri, Dec 15th, it's only $20.00 for the first 10 leads & 10 follows to sign up each night. 
• REGULAR PRICE, or AT-TE-DOOR:  $25.00  You can pay with a credit card or Paypal online, or with Cash or Check only at the door.
