Master's Class Series!

Ari's MASTER’S CLASS Series

(for Experienced Dancers)

“Taking it to a whole new level”

If you have been dancing for years, have taken a large number of steps-based classes, and have come to realize that learning more steps is not necessarily going to take you to that next level in your dance, you are now ready to open your mind to the class that will get you there!

In this unique class series -- developed by Ari at the request of his students -- we won't be focussing on a particular dance style per se, but rather on how to master numerous lead & follow elements that can be used across a variety of dance styles.  In other words, we'll be diving deeply into the common language of ALL of dancing that will allow you to play and innovate to ANY music, not just memorize steps from one particular style or pattern.

To this end, class topics will focus on such concepts as dynamic framework; making your movement effortless and flowing; redefining “connection”; understanding the nuance of energy & tension; creating conversational dance; invisible lead & follow; building new moves by repurposing dance elements you already know — essentially rethinking the way we partner, co-create, and communicate movement on the dance floor to allow for more deliciousness, trust, creativity, and effortless play with our partners!

Much of these concepts will introduce vocabulary that I have been talking about for years in many of our classes, but which we'll really get to explore at length with this group.   You can see some examples of these ideas put into action in the following videos:

  • Ari Levitt & Alyssa Manning - "NC2S Fusion" Improv #2 (Dec 12, 2017)     https://youtu.be/SUZAcY3wTaQ

Since we will be moving quickly and diving deeply into new material, we will want to keep the level of the dancers in the class fairly consistent.  For this reason, and for the first round at least, the class will be tailored toward experienced social dancers who are comfortable dancing to at least three different dance styles (See list in the "Qualifications" section below)

FINAL THOUGHTS:   If you're looking for a breakthrough in your dancing, with a supportive, fun group of like-minded people; if you’re ready to take on new challenges and take your dancing to a whole new level, then make this class one of your New Year’s Resolutions!  What a great way to start 2018 and, at the same time, improve your skills and enjoy a whole new level of connection for years to come!
